Privacy Policy

DeepSurfCut is designed around a simple rule: your surf footage should stay under your control.

1. Overview

DeepSurfCut analyzes standing-wave surfing videos, organizes detected rides, and exports clips. The current version performs video analysis on your Apple device using models bundled with the app. We do not operate a service that receives or processes your source videos, extracted frames, thumbnails, timelines, or exported clips.

2. Information DeepSurfCut does not collect

The current app does not collect or transmit:

  • Your source videos, video frames, crops, thumbnails, or exported clips.
  • Projects, timeline edits, detected surfer groups, or local file paths.
  • Names, email addresses, account credentials, or contact lists.
  • Precise or approximate location.
  • Advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking data.
  • In-app analytics or behavioral profiles.

3. Photos and files

On iPhone and iPad, DeepSurfCut requests access to media you choose for import and may request permission to save exports to Photos. On Mac, the app accesses videos, projects, and output folders that you explicitly select. These permissions are used only to provide the requested import, editing, save, and export features.

4. On-device processing

Ride detection, visual feature extraction, surfer grouping, timeline editing, and video export are performed locally. Core ML and Apple system frameworks may use the CPU, GPU, or Neural Engine on your device to complete this work.

5. Project files and retention

If you save a DeepSurfCut project, the project may contain local media references, timeline metadata, detected surfer groups, and thumbnail images. These files remain wherever you choose to save them. DeepSurfCut does not receive a copy. You control retention by keeping or deleting your project, source, cache, and export files on your devices.

6. Apple services and purchases

The App Store and StoreKit may process download, purchase, subscription, diagnostic, and account information under Apple's own terms and privacy policy. DeepSurfCut does not receive your Apple Account password or payment card details.

7. Children

DeepSurfCut does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app processes only the local media selected by the person using the device.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. If a future version adds an optional online service, analytics, or another form of data processing, this policy will be updated before that processing begins.

9. Contact

Questions about privacy can be sent to support@deepsurf.app.
